A Baby Boy - My Mum's Craft Shop DT card

Tuesday 30 July 2013
Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday...hope the weather is a bit better than it was yesterday.

It's time to show you my DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop this week where our theme is 'Animals'.

I have to be honest and say I was dreading this a little as I don't tend to use a lot of animals on my cards but I had one of those lightbulb moments and suddenly knew what I wanted to do.

I decided to make a baby card using this fabulous Woodware Noah's Ark clear single stamp which is a great size for a 6 x 6 card.

I've stamped my image with Memento Ink and coloured it with Copics as always, it was really great to colour and do you like my green fish....I've never actually seen a real green fish but I needed some green to match in with the papers and I didn't think a green lion or bear would work!

The papers are all from the Echo Park Bundle of Joy Boy 6 x 6 paper pad, all matted onto brown cardstock to give a good contrast and match the colouring in the image.

As the image takes up quite a lot of the card I've kept the embellishments to a minimum, sticking to just a couple of lengths of twine and a chunky green button to finish off.

That's all from me today, thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by the My Mum's Craft Shop blog for the rest of the week to check out what the rest of the team have been up to .

Celebrate ! - My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card

Tuesday 23 July 2013
Hi there everyone, happy Tuesday.  It's Megan's last day at school today so I'm looking forward to spending some time with her over the holidays (I just hope it isn't too hot....warm will be nice though lol).

It's time for my weekly slot over at My Mum's Craft Shop and it's a free theme this week...it's always lovely to have free rein over which goodies to use and I've decided to keep it fairly simple this week and let this gorgeous stamp do the talking.

I've used one of the Stamping Bella Uptown Girls stamps called Victoria & Juliette's Night Out which I have coloured with Copics and blinged up with plenty of glamour dust.

The papers are from the Echo Park Dots & Stripes Bundle of Joy Girl 6 x 6 paper pad and I've matted all my panels onto silver cardstock.

I've made a scalloped border panel using the Die-namics Jumbo Scallop die and I've paper pricked around the edges to make the little holes.  I've then added a length of pink grosgrain saddlestitch ribbon topped off with a button from The Hobby House's Fancy Button - Pearl Mix for a bit of extra bling.

Finishing touches are a couple of pearls to each corner and there you have it, the perfect girly birthday card.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day

Happy Days - My Mum's Craft Shop DT card

Tuesday 16 July 2013
Goooood morning everyone on this beautiful sunny day (I'm hoping it's a beautiful day, I scheduled this post yesterday !)

It's time to show you my card for My Mum's Craft Shop this week and quite appropriately our theme for this week is 'Summer'.

I've gone way out of my comfort zone this week and created a scene card but the idea came into my head while lying in bed so I knew I had to give it a go.  It was a bit fiddly and involved a bit of fussy cutting but I think it was worth it.

I've started by die cutting a large circle to create my scene on and have used patterned papers from the Echo Park A Perfect Summer 6 x 6 paper pad to make the sand, sea and sky.  One of the sheets is a large sun-ray design so I've cut out a portion of that to make my sunshine.

The bucket and sandcastle I've just created myself out of some of the patterned paper and the beach ball has been made by die cutting a circle of white cardstock and drawing and colouring the beach ball onto it.

I've die cut the clouds from the Memory Box Puffy Clouds die and coloured around the edges with a C-2 copic pen to give a bit of dimension.  The balloons are just cut from one of the patterned papers and I've drawn some mini seagulls with a black fine liner.

Finally my image is Ice Cream Lucy by CC Designs (and she is on special offer at the moment so grab her while you can) and I've coloured her with Copics as always.

And now I wish I could say I'm off to enjoy the sunshine but I'm actually sat behind my desk at work gazing longingly out of the window wishing it was 1.30 !

Enjoy your day everyone

With Love from Tilly Daydream - My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card

Tuesday 9 July 2013
Hey everyone, Tuesday already and it looks like it's going to be another hot one.  I've got to be honest (and I know I'm in a minority) but I hate this hot weather.  Don't get me wrong I love the sunshine and I like it to be warm but I can't stand it when it's hot and sticky and uncomfortable, especially when you are trying to get to sleep.

Anyway enough waffle about the weather, it's time for this week's DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop and this week we are free to use a theme of our choice.

Since the absolutely yummy A4 Ultimate Die Cut and Paper Pack featuring the gorgeous new Tilly Daydream landed through my letterbox this weekend I thought it would be rude not to use it.  It is literally filled with gorgeousness....decoupage, papers, tags, toppers, sentiments and more and you could use it for so many different projects.

This is one of the toppers in the pack and it caught my eye because I thought it would be great for a crafty friend.

The hexagons have actually been cut out from one of the sheets of patterned paper and I've mounted each one onto navy cardstock to give them a bit more definition.  I am loving hexagons at the moment so be prepared to see them quite a bit in my forthcoming projects !

The banner has been cut using the Die namics Fishtail Flags die and faux stitched with white gel pen.

And there you have it......I'm sure you will be seeing quite a bit more of this little character in the near future.

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine !

Especially for You

Tuesday 2 July 2013
Hi again everyone

I'm back again today with another creation for My Mum's Craft Shop and our theme for this week is pre-coloured toppers and images.  These are great if you are not confident with your colouring skills or if you just want to make a quick card and don't have time to colour an image.

As you know I'm a huge fan of Sylvia Zet's images so I decided to use one of the images from the Spring Bringer topper set by The Hobby House.

I was led by the soft muted colours in the image and used the Collectable Memorable 6 x 6 pad by My Minds Eye as the gorgeous pinks and greens matched really well.  To keep up with the muted theme I've matted all my panels onto Kraft cardstock.

I've used the Fishtail Flags dienamics to add some banners in the background and I've added some lace ribbon and buttons from my stash to embellish.

Keep popping back to the My Mums Craft Shop blog this week to check out the creations from the rest of the DT girlies.

I'm back with a New Challenge for My Mum's Craft Shop

Monday 1 July 2013
Helllloooooo everyone, I'm back after a bit of a crafty break and raring to go!

I am very lucky to be back on the My Mum's Craft Shop  DT and as it's 1st July (eeek) we are kicking of the month with a new challenge.  This month our theme is.....

Just for Girls

Always a good one for me as I love my girly cards.  Having said that I decided to stay away from pink this time for a change and go for a gorgeous turquoise and purple theme.

I adore the First Edition paper pads and this one is a fairly recent one called New Bloom.  To make it all pop I've matted all my panels onto turquoise cardstock....as usual lots of layers from me lol

The stamp is the gorgeous Cupcake Cutie from My Favourite Things and I've coloured her with Copics, adding a few spots around the background to give a bit of dimension.

I've finished off with some purple ribbon, flowers and buttons.

We always love seeing your creations so if you want to be in with a chance of winning a MMCS voucher pop by the blog and leave a link to your design.

Well that's all from me today, pop back tomorrow when I will have another DT card to show you.
