Hugs & Kisses

Wednesday 23 December 2015
Hi peeps ...two more sleeps, hands up who is excited !!

Now everything is finished I took some time to make a quick card this afternoon while Rich and Megs decided to bake a cake.

I have a folder stuffed with stamped images ready to colour, half coloured, fully coloured you name it and this is one I've had lurking for a while now.  I thought she would be quick and easy to colour and would go perfectly with an early Christmas present pad of paper Rich gave me today.

This is the gorgeous Love Spring Time from All Dressed Up Stamps and she comes with some little butterflies and a sentiment too but I decided to fussy cut her out and keep it simple today.

It's a really basic card with some rectangles of patterned paper and a die cut circle which has been embossed with hearts.  The sentiment is computer generated and I've added a couple of buttons to embellish.  My little girlie is mounted on foam pads to make her stand out a bit more and I thought keeping the sentiment quite generic would mean this card would be suitable for a few different occasions.

I am also really impressed that I have coloured blonde hair as I always shy away from blonde and stick with brown as I find it easier to colour lol!

That's all from me, I'm off to die cut some flowers in the hope that I will get some more cardmaking time later.

Hugs

Pretty Little Lady - Craftin Desert Divas Digi DT Card

Tuesday 22 December 2015
Good morning everyone, I am officially on Christmas holiday now woohoo!

I managed to finish all my wrapping last night....all those little stocking fillers seem like a good idea at the time when you are buying them but when you have to wrap them it's not so good lol.

We are off present delivering today but before we go I wanted to show you my latest card for the Craftin Desert Divas Digi Design Team.

I decided to come away from the traditional black and red ladybug colours and went for pink and turquoise...I think a pink and turquoise ladybug would be pretty cute don't you!  This gorgeous digi is called Pretty Little Lady and she is available here

I've coloured her up with copics and added lots of little extra details with white gel pen and glittered up her wings.  I usually pick the papers I am going to use before I colour my image but I didn't in this case and had to find papers to match once I had coloured my image.

I've used papers from Lili of the Valley but I don't think they are available any more as they have been in my stash for so long now.

There are a lorra lorra layers on this card as Cilla would say but that's how I like it lol and each layer has been matted onto hot pink cardstock.

Finally I've embellished with Dienamics Circle Scribbles cut from some of the papers and finished off with some buttons and adhesive pearls.

This will go down as one of my favourite cards, I just love everything about it, plus it's pink so what could be better.

I wish you all a wonderful Tuesday (even though I keep thinking it's Saturday).

See you soon

Ladybug Girl - Craftin Desert Divas Digi DT Card

Friday 4 December 2015
Hi there everyone and happy Friday.  I hope you are all well and ready for the weekend because I know I am.

It was Megan's 8th birthday yesterday and I am organising a Strictly Come Dancing themed party for her on Sunday so I am chasing my tail a bit at the moment but I'm sure it will be all worth it when all the girls are glammed up and dancing away.

I am really excited to announce that I have been invited to join the brand new Digital Design Team over at Craftin Desert Divas !!  If you aren't familiar with them pop over to the page and have a look, there are some gorgeous digis as well as clear stamps and dies.

For my first project I have used the cute Ladybug Girl digistamp and coloured her up with my copics.  I've added a few extra spots here and there and blinged up her wings with some glamour dust.

As always I've gone for the layered look using the Doodlebug Lovebugs paper pad plus some black and white spotty paper from my scraps pile.  I'm a sucker for polka dots!  I've layered all my paper panels onto black cardstock to make them stand out in all the red and I've embellished with pearls, buttons, die cut flowers and twine.

I am really pleased with it and it's definitely going to be an image I use over and over again.

If you would like to see more projects made with their other fab products check out the Blog or the Facebook Gallery.  We are also on Pinterest and you can find us here

I will be adding more cards over the coming weeks so be sure to check back soon.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Polly Loves Perfume

Tuesday 24 November 2015
Hey peeps how are you doing?  I am quite disappointed we haven't had the snow that other parts of the country seem to have had :-(  Having said that I only like it when I don't have to drive in it so if I could order some for the Crimbo holidays that would be fab.

Since starting Weight Watchers I am really getting back into my cardmaking again as it gives me a focus other than food.  I also have some very exciting DT news coming next week too so watch this space.

For today's card I have used one of my favourite colour combos....black and pink...oh and spots too...did I ever tell you I LOVE spots!

The image is Polly Loves Perfume, one of the Uptown Girls from Stamping Bella....isn't she fab and oh how I wish I had a sofa that looked like that.

I've used a mish-mash of various black and white papers from my stash, some of which I have matted onto hot pink cardstock and then layered them up in my usual style.

I die cut a hot pink panel using the MFT Stamps polka dot cover up die and popped that into the background and also used the Love Notes Confetti Cuts frame die from Reverse Confetti in the top corner.

It's quite a busy card but that's what I do best lol!

That's all from me today, hope you all have a fantastic day

Party Time Avery

Thursday 19 November 2015
Hello everyone, long time no see.  I've had a few technical problems but everything seems to be up and running again now so I am back!

Today I am showcasing the fantastic Party Time Avery from The Papernest Dolls.  I feel like I have struggled lately to find my mojo and have been trying hard to bring it back by making some clean and simple designs.  This sounds stupid but I find CAS cards really hard so I'm back with the layers and woohoo I'm happy again lol.

I absolutely adore these Pebbles papers and I have had them in my stash for so long that I am hanging on to every single spare scrap because I know I can't get them anymore.

There was no rhyme or reason to how this card took shape and I had no idea where I was going with it.  I randomly cut some shapes and played about until I was happy with the layout.

I matted all my layers onto chocolate brown cardstock to make them pop and did some faux stitching around the panels.

Avery has been coloured with Copics and I've added some button and flag details as embellishment.

That's all from me today, I won't leave it so long next time .

Saturday 10 October 2015
Hi there lovelies and happy Saturday.  I'm here with my latest make for My Mum's Craft Shop

Have you started your Christmas preparations yet or is it still too early?  I've been pushing myself to make a start on my Christmas cards so thought I would go for a Christmas theme this week.

I've used the Teddy Behind Present stamp by Wild Rose Studio and coloured him with Copics before mounting onto lime green cardstock.

The papers are from the Doodlebug Sugarplums paper pad and I have mounted all my layers onto lime green cardstock to tie in with how I have coloured the image.  I love the colours in this pad, it's nice sometimes to do something different to the usual red and green.

For some reason it took a few attempts before I was happy with my layout and my table was strewn with nearly every sheet from the pad that I had cut into and then discarded :-(

I've finished my card off with some blue cotton lace trim, a couple of buttons and a crystal snowflake charm tucked into the corner.

Hope I have inspired you to get into the Christmas spirit early with my festive make!

Have a great weekend.

Saturday 26 September 2015
Morning everyone it's Shelly here with my latest DT card for My Mums Craft Shop  to show you and you will need your sunglasses for this one!

It's looking like it's going to be a lovely weekend again so I thought I would get out my Hello Sunshine pad from Doodlebug and brighten things up even more.

Doodlebug can't put a foot wrong for me, I absolutely adore their products and this pad has to be one of my favourites.

I've cut various panels of patterned paper and mounted them onto lime green cardstock to make them stand out even more.  I have also faux stitched the edges (because I just can't not do it now!!)

The stamp is the fabulous Farrah Loves Flashdance and whenever I use it it always brings back memories of me and my sister trying to re-enact the final dance scene from Flashdance when we were younger (not very successfully I might add).  I've coloured her with Copics and made a bit of a dotty background using the very tip of the brush nib end of the pens.

I've die cut some circles, snipped around the edges and added buttons to the centres to make my lowers and die cut the number 30 using my Dienamics By The Numbers die.

That's it from me, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Blossom Loves Balloons - My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card

Saturday 12 September 2015
Good morning everyone it's time for me to show you my DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop

I decided to go with one of my all time favourite colour combos for my card this week.....black, pink and white.  Pink tends to always feature somewhere on my cards lol.

The Stamping Bella fans among may have been as excited as I was about the release of the Tiny Townies...or maybe I am just sad to get excited about stamps!  Anyway for my card I've used the gorgeous Blossom loves Balloons...isn't she a cutie.

As always I've coloured her with Copics.  I was going to paper piece the balloons but decided they looked better coloured.

The papers are from the Taylored Expressions Formula for Love paper pad and my white panel has been embossed using the Taylored Expressions Cloudy Days embossing folder.

I cut a pennant using the Dienamics Fishtail Flags Stax dies and added a couple of die cut clouds using foam pads.

The sentiment is also from the stamp set and I've added a couple of buttons just to finish off.

That's it from me for today.  I hope you all enjoy your Saturday.

All Dressed Up Stamps Challenge 40

Wednesday 2 September 2015
Hey there everyone

After our summer break it's time for the next Challenge over at All Dressed Up and as always our theme is 'Anything Goes'.

Sadly this is my last post for All Dressed Up but I will definitely continue to use the fab images on my cards in future.

I absolutely adore this image, it was actually a free download from a recent craft magazine and will hopefully be available in the All Dressed Up Etsy store in the near future.

The image was an absolute dream to colour and I didn't colour the moon at all, I just covered it with quickie glue and then covered it in Glamour Dust...it looks fab in reality !

It's quite a subtle colour scheme and the papers are from the gorgeous Mr & Mrs pad by Lili of the Valley.  I love the touch of pink which just gives everything a lift along with the pop of black.

Lots of layers as always and finished off with some satin ribbon and a blingy crystal butterfly.

If you would like a chance to win some All Dressed Up goodies pop over to the blog and share your creations using an All Dressed Up image, we love seeing what you come up with.

That's all from me for now.

Have a great night

Carnival Cupcakes - My Mum's Craft Shop DT card

Saturday 29 August 2015
Hi everyone, sorry things have been quiet around here lately, I always have good intentions of posting daily but then life seems to get in the way!

Anyway here I am with my card for this week for My Mum's Craft Shop.  I was going to use another Stamping Bella image but I thought you might be sick of those so I decided to do something different for a change.

You will know by now how much I love polka dots....they seem to appear on most cards I make and this card is no exception.  The dotty background has been made using the Dienamics Polka Dot Cover Uo die which I have mounted onto some gorgeous candy pink cardstock.

I then made my frame using the Dienamics Polaroid Cover Up die onto the back of which I put a piece of acetate and a pink cardstock panel.  I mounted the whole thing using foam pads to give it a bit of dimension.

For my images I used the cute Carnival Cupcakes stamp set by Mama Elephant.  It's a really versatile mix and match set which can be used for loads of different occasions.  I used the large bunny and the scrummiest looking cupcake, coloured them with Copics and then fussy cut them before mounting onto the corner of my frame.

I handcut a little fishtail banner out of stone coloured cardstock and the flowers are made using the gorgeous Dienamics Circle Scribbles die.  I didn't have enough Quickie Glue left to stick them on so I stuck a button into the centre with PVA to stick them down!

I've added a couple of sequins onto the acetate panel to finish up and I did mean to glitter the cupcake but forgot!

That's it from me for today folks.  Have a great Saturday whatever you are up to .

My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card - Bailey Has a Baby

Saturday 15 August 2015
Morning lovelies, it's time to show you my new DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop and this week I have kept things quite simple again.... I don't know what is happening to me lol!

I absolutely adore the Stamping Bella Uptown Girls stamps and for my card I have used the gorgeous Bailey Has a Baby - I wish I looked that amazing after having a baby ;-)  I stamped her onto some Neenah cardstock with black Memento ink and then coloured her with Copics.  I added a little doodle border around the edge with a fine liner.

I have kept the colour scheme quite generic so it could be used as either a baby boy or girl card.

Did you know that My Favourite Things now do papers?  This is from the 6 x 6 Plaid Patterns pad and as I have got some brown colouring in my image I have matted everything onto brown cardstock to give a bit of contrast.

To finish I have added a couple of buttons and a stamped sentiment from an old Paper Smooches set from my stash.

That's all from me today.  I am super excited as we are going camping on Monday for a week in the Lakes.  I have everything possible crossed that the weather is nice!

Have a great weekend

A Little Something to Brighten your Day

Saturday 1 August 2015
Good morning lovelies I am sorry I haven't been around much again lately, I have been trying to juggle lots of things trying to keep on top of everything, plus with summer holidays it's been extra difficult!

I am hoping this disgusting weather picks up before we go camping in a couple of weeks but to be honest I am so ready for the break I don't think it will stop me enjoying every minute.

It's time for my DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop and this week I have kept it fairly simple but nice and colourful....you can't have too much colour right :-)

The papers are from the Doodlebug Hello Sunshine paper pad, I just love the colours in this one - so bright and funky.

I've cut the scalloped rectangle using the Dienamics Blueprints 1 die set, along with the white centre panel which I have faux stitched and mounted onto green card to make it pop.

I have then stamped my flowers onto a variety of patterned papers from the pad using the fantastic WPlus9 Blanket Stitched Blooms stamp set which is so versatile.  The sentiment is also stamped from this set.

Well that's all from me today, I hope the sun comes out for you today.  Have a great one!

My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card - Birthday Girl

Saturday 18 July 2015
Morning everyone, long time no see.  I have had so much going on lately I am afraid I have severely neglected my little blog.

Never mind pull up a chair I am back now with my DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop and this week I have chosen to do a scallop circle easel style design using the cute little Birthday Girl stamp by A Random Fan.

I have coloured her with copics to match my papers which are from the Patriotic Picnic pad by Doodlebug.  I've matted everything onto navy blue cardstock and added a bit of faux stitching here and there to make the layers pop a bit more.

I can't for the life of me remember where I got the letter dies from, I have had them so long (but to be fair, I can't remember what I did yesterday most of the time so it isn't surprising really).

The large flower is from the Dienamics Blueprints 14 die set and to finish I have added some Craftwork Cards Candi, buttons and a little ribbon bow.

Well that's all from me today, we are off to shop for some camping stuff for our holidays soon...can't wait!

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday

The Papernest Dolls Challenge #7 - Ballgown Ella

Monday 6 July 2015
Good morning everyone

It's time for a brand new challenge over at the Papernest Dolls and I am excited to show you my first Design Team card for them.  The theme as always is 'Anything Goes'

I decided to make a stepper card which is a bit out of my comfort zone but it did give me a chance to use lots of layers and detail,

I have used the gorgeous Ballgown Ella stamp from the Fairytale Collection and she was an absolute dream to colour but I definitely need some more practice on colouring folds !

I have added a full list of supplies at the end of my post.

I've used faux stitching around most of my panels and 'stitched' with a turquoise gel pen so it stands out.

I have also embossed the white cardstock panel with hearts although it doesn't show up very well in the picture.

If you fancy joining us this month pop over to the blog where you can also check out what the rest of the DT have created for you.  You could be in with a chance of winning a prize and we love to see your creations.

That's all from me for today, have a great Monday everyone

Fiona Loves Flowers - My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card

Saturday 4 July 2015
Morning lovelies how are you all on this lovely Saturday morning?

Today is my first post as part of the My Mum's Craft Shop DT and I am so pleased to be back on the team.

Unfortunately I haven't had as much time as I hoped this week as my boss is in Intensive Care following surgery and as her business partner is her husband I have been holding the fort at work so it's been a bit manic to say the least!

However, I managed to fit in some crafting yesterday when I was 'working from home' ;-)

I have stuck to quite a simple layout for my card and I have used the gorgeous Fiona Loves Flowers Uptown Girl stamp which I have coloured with Copics.

The patterned paper panels are from the Echo Park Bundle of Joy Dots and Stripes pad and the sentiment is from the brand new Mama Elephant Sunday Sentiments stamp set.

I have finished off with some buttons, ribbon and self adhesive pearls.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend.

All Dressed Up Stamps Challenge - Anything Goes

Thursday 2 July 2015
Hi there everyone, it's time for a new challenge over at All Dressed Up and as always our theme is 'Anything Goes'.  We always love seeing your creations so please do pop over and join us, you never know you might just bag yourself a prize ;-)

For my card I have chosen the gorgeous Love Is stamp which is available here....isn't it just so cute!  I printed my image off a little bit larger than I had wanted so I went for an 8 x 8 size card so I could fit all my layers on.

The image is coloured with Copics and I've added some extra spots onto the little girl's hat with my brown gel pen.  I have also doodled a border around the side of my image instead of stitching for a change.

I intended to colour the background but time got away from me and then it totally went out of my head....as many things seem to do these days lol.

So if you fancy giving the challenge a go just pop over to the blog and link up your creation (using an All Dressed Up image) for us to see.  I for one look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Details of the supplies I used on my card are all listed below.

Dovecraft Sweet Paris 8 x 8 paper pad
Image from All Dressed Up
Sentiment from Mama Elephant 'Sunday Sentiments' stamp set
Dienamics Blueprints 14 (for flower, button and leaves)
Ribbon and twine from my stash

That's all from me for now, have a lovely evening

Friends Make Life Blossom - Tuesday Morning Sketches

Tuesday 30 June 2015
Good morning everyone hope you are all well on this beautifully sunny Tuesday.

All Dressed Up Stamps are sponsoring this week's sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I was lucky enough to get to play with the fabulous Love Spring Time stamp which is available in the Etsy store.

This is such a versatile stamp which can be used for loads of different occasions and you will definitely be seeing her again on many more future cards.

I am absolutely loving these papers at the moment....so much so you will be sick of seeing them lol!  They are from the Sunny Side Up pad by Lilli of the Valley and I have already used most of the pad in a couple of weeks!

My stamp is coloured with copics and then I have fussy cut around her before mounting her with foam pads onto my paper panels.

To finish I have embellished with some grosgrain ribbon and buttons.

Please do pop on over to Tuesday Morning Sketches and show us your creations to be in with a chance of winning a fantabulous prize from All Dressed Up....Good Luck !

Have a great day

Cute Elephant

Thursday 25 June 2015
Hi everyone

Just a quick post from me today as I seem to have a million and one things to try and get done before we go camping in the morning.  I think I will feel happier once we get there and get the tent up...plus it will be a bonus if the sun is shining!

Today's card is a real cutie, and it's a welcome to the world card to Ellis from his big sisters.

I think elephants are always perfect for baby cards and this is a digistamp from Squigglefly.com which I have coloured with copics.

The papers are all old ones from my stash, I think they are Stamping Up and I have embellished with some satin ribbon, buttons and a square doily from Ebay.

Right I am off for lunch....roll on hometime !!

Have a great weekend

Summer Fayre - All Dressed Up DT Card

Wednesday 24 June 2015
Hey there everyone, hope you are okay :-)

It is time to show you my DT card for All Dressed Up Stamps using one of the fantabulous new stamps from the latest release called Summer Fayre

I've gone back to my layering best with this one and I have to say it is one of my personal favourites of all the cards I have ever made.  I have coloured with copics and added some dots and spots on the tablecloth and bunting with white gel pen (although you can't see it very well on the pic).

The papers are Pastel Dreams from Lilli of the Valley and I knew as soon as I saw the image that these papers would be perfect, alongside some kraft cardstock to give it a rustic/vintage feel.

I have inked all the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink and have faux stitched each panel.  I have then embellished with die cut flowers, crochet flowers and a hessian panel to give a bit of texture.  There is also a Doodlebug doily tucked in there along with some buttons and flatback pearls so a lot going on!

I made it in 8 x 8 size to fit all the details in and I love it so much I might just keep it for myself ;-)

We have our June Challenge running at the moment at All Dressed Up...pop over to the blog to find out more details as we love seeing your beautiful creations and you could be in with a chance to win 3 digis of your choice.

We also have a FB challenge in the Facebook Group so please do pop along and share your designs.

That's all from me for now.  Speak to you soon

Happy New Home

Morning folks and happy Wednesday....we are slowly inching further towards Friday woohoo :-)   You know when you wake up on a morning and you feel like you have never been to sleep....that is how I feel today, I could just shut my eyes and lay my head down on my desk....it's going to be a loooong day !  If this post ends abruptly I may well have dropped off lol.

Anyway I would like to share with you a customer card I made for a couple moving into their first home.

I thought it would be nice to create a little scene using different die cut elements and some embossing for a bit of texture.

The papers are from the Blank Canvas paper pad by First Edition and all of my layers have been matted onto Kraft cardstock to give a soft look.

I embossed some blue cardstock with a cloud embossing folder to create the sky and the hill is just a die cut circle chopped in half.  The sun, fence and tree I hand cut myself and the clouds are made using the Puffy Clouds die from Memory Box.

The digistamp house is available here and I have mounted it onto foam pads to make it stand out a bit more.

I am really happy with how it turned out because 'scene' cards have never been my forte but as you can see I still managed plenty of layers !

Didn't I do well managing to stay awake!  Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.

Check back later today for a brand new card made using one of the beautiful new release images from All Dressed Up.

Crafty Sentiments Designs - Little Polly I Love Rain

Tuesday 23 June 2015
Hi there everyone

It's Day 5 of the new release stamps over at Crafty Sentiments Designs and this is my first DT project for them.  They are releasing 5 brand new characters and today I am showcasing the gorgeous Little Polly I Love Rain stamp.  They are all available in the shop today.

We were asked to produce something other than a card so I decided that in keeping with the image I would make a Rainy Day Book.  When it is raining at school and Megs can't go out to play they have a rainy day book that they work in so I took the idea from there to create my own.

I have used a blank 8 x 8 ring bound kraft scrapbook for mine, although you could use any blank book you have available (if your house is anything like mine you will have many !)

I coloured my image with copics and die cut it into a circle before making a light blue dotty background with my pen tips.

The papers are from the Sunny Side Up paper pad from Lilli of the Valley and it is one of my favourite paper pads of the moment, I am definitely going to have to buy a couple more !

I have matted everything onto red cardstock and added some faux stitching with white and blue gel pens.

The clouds are cut from the Memory Box Puffy Clouds die and I've embossed them with polka dots to make them stand out a bit more before mounting them with foam pads.

Some ribbons and buttons to finish off and there you have it.  It now has pride of place in Megan's room for her to fill with random stuff that takes her fancy !

Hope you all have a lovely day

Shelly xx

It's Blue Monday

Monday 22 June 2015
Good morning everyone, how fast has this weekend gone, it has just been an absolute blur !

We have been preparing for our first camping trip this weekend, we aim to get there early so when we make absolute idiots of ourselves trying to put the tent up there won't be too many people there to see us lol.  I am not sure how I feel about being away from my craft stuff for so long but I will have to make up for it when I get back.

This card I have made with one of the images I have had coloured up for a while waiting patiently to be made into a card.  There are quite a few blue challenges on at the moment so I thought I would put it to good use.  I have made a similar design to this in the past using a different image and I love the way the pastel blues work with the kraft cardstock.

This is the adorable Amy from Wee Stamps.  I don't think she is available digitally any longer but you can buy her in rubber here.  As with all of Sylvia Zet's stamps she was an absolute dream to colour.

The papers are from the Petal Fresh pad from Lilli of the Valley and I've made the flowers using a combination of Dienamics Layered Rose dies and a Martha Stewart hydrangea punch and added some little blue pearls to the centres.

The butterfly is made using the Pippi Butterfly die from Memory Box.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges :-

Simply Papercraft Challenges - Challenge 7

Okay that's all from me for now, check back tomorrow when I will be showing you my first DT creation for Crafty Sentiments Designs :-)

Have a happy Monday.

I'm bored!

Wednesday 17 June 2015
Hi everyone, I am having a very slow day at work today so I have been browsing the internet and generally doing not much at all.

I thought I would share with you a previous custom card design for a little girl who absolutely adores giraffes.

The digi is from Pink Gem Designs and I've had it for quite some time.  I love the little hearts on his back so I thought if I coloured them with some of the colours in the papers it would tie in really nicely.

The papers are some of my favourites of all time and I am almost loath to use them any more because I don't think you can get them now.  They are from the Twitterpated collection by Pebbles and I just love the colours.

I sometimes wish I still did custom orders but it just got too much and I had trouble saying no !

Well I suppose I had better try and look busy for the rest of my day.  Hope you are having a lovely Wednesday .

Fiona Loves Flowers

Monday 15 June 2015
Morning lovelies, I am feeling quite grotty today so just a quick post from me to brighten up your day ;-)

This is a recent birthday card I made for a friend of mine using the gorgeous Fiona Loves Flowers rubber stamp from Stamping Bella, isn't she gorgeous.

This is a nice clean and simple design for me using some of my many scraps of leftover paper...I just can't bear to throw anything away!

Pink and turquoise is one of my favourite colour combos and is one I use often but I really must learn how to colour hair other than brown lol!

That's all from me today folks, have a wonderful Monday

Sweet Baby Girl and Boy

Sunday 14 June 2015
Hey there folks, it's been a drab and miserable day here in the North East, the perfect day for crafting!

I've just made two brand new baby cards which are for sale on my FB Group Page Little Megs Cards.  They are both A6 in size and are £2.75 each.

I absolutely adore this stamp, it's the beautiful My Baby Shower from All Dressed Up Stamps, isn't it cute!

The baby boy version has been made using some beautiful flocked papers I bought for a bargain in TK Maxx before Christmas.  If you have one near you you should check out their craft section there are some amazing bargains to be had.

This is the baby girl one made using papers from Pink Petticoat....

Both of the images are coloured with Copics and I've added my little dotty background using the pen tips around the edge of the image.

I hope you like them.

I am being summoned downstairs now as Rich has made some pancakes.....yummy !

Happy Birthday Morgan

Friday 12 June 2015
Hi there everyone (by that I mean the three or four people that visit me lol!)

I don't know about you but I am looking forward to the weekend, we are going to get our new car tomorrow woohoo!!  I will be sorry to say goodbye to our reliable old Fanny Focus but she is starting to cost too much money and I could be using that to buy more craft supplies ;-)

Anyway enough of the waffle and down to business.  This one isn't a new make but it's one of my favourite custom orders from lat year.

She is made using the gorgeous Sweetie Pie digistamp from All Dressed Up, coloured using Copics and I have made a little spotty background with the brush tip ends of the pens.

The papers are from Lilli of the Valley and I really love this turquoise and lilac combo, it's really fresh.

The flower and number dies are both dienamics and the sentiments are computer generated.

Well that's all from me today, I am going to have to make some effort to look like I have done some housework !!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Little Cowboy

Thursday 11 June 2015
Morning peeps, it's another lovely sunshiney day and I am actually wearing a sleeveless top so it must be summer!

Today I would like to share a card that I have made with the cute Little Cowboy image from The Paper Shelter.   I think I may have mentioned before that I am not great with the whole masculine card thing...where do I put the pink and the glitter and the ribbon !

The papers are from Doodlebug (again!) and I've coloured my image using Copics.  Everything has been matted onto navy cardstock to make the layers pop and I've added a little dotty background to match the papers.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:-

The Crafter's Cafe Challenge - #120 Anything Goes
Fresh Brewed Designs - June 1-16 Dude
Papertake Weekly Challenge - One For the Boys
Crafting for All Seasons - Challenge 104 - It's a Boy Thing

I hope you all have a lovely crafty day......not long until the weekend !!

More Exciting News!!!

Wednesday 10 June 2015
Morning everyone

I am feeling very excited this morning as I have received two bits of good news this week :-)

I applied to be on the Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge Design Team and am absolutely thrilled to have been accepted.  There are some fantastic stamps available and I can't wait to get working with them.

As if that wasn't enough I received a message this morning inviting me back onto the Design Team for My Mum's Craft Shop !!!  I used to be on the team a while ago but due to personal circumstances had to step down so I am absolutely over the moon to have been invited back.

They say good things happen in threes so who knows what might happen next lol!

Have a great day everyone

The Key to My Heart

Tuesday 9 June 2015
Hi there everyone, hope you are all enjoying this beautiful sunshine, I just hope it lasts!

Today I would like to share a card I've made using one of my favourite CC Designs stamps (and believe me I have many!) called Violet with Key.  I have her as a digi but I think she is only available in rubber now.

This is a fairly CAS card for me, still a few layers sneaking in there though lol!

She has been coloured with Copics and I've glittered her wings with Glamour Dust, although that isn't really showing up very well on the pic.

The papers are from Doodlebug (I do have lots more papers honestly but I seem to have a bit of a Doodlebug thing going on at the moment).

Everything has been matted onto navy cardstock with some faux stitching here and there plus some buttons to top it off.

Oh and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler set.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges :-

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge 10 - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion Challenge 265 - Anything Goes
Scribble & Scrap Challenge 46 - Anything Goes

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Cardmaker of the Year 2014

Monday 8 June 2015
Morning everyone, the weekends sure do fly by, I can't believe it's Monday again.

There has been a lot of blue around the blog lately so let's soften things up a bit and throw some pastel colours into the mix.

Last year I entered a Cardmaker of the Year competition in one of the craft magazines and was amazed to be one of the ten runners up!

I had to submit three cards to enter and this was one of them.

The papers are all from the Blank Canvas pad by First Edition.  I have a couple of these pads...one to stroke and one to use ;-) and the image is Amy from Wee Stamps.  I have her as a digi but I don't think you can get her in digi form now but you can buy her in rubber from Dies to Die For.  They really are beautiful images to colour and the details are fantastic.

I've used various flower dies for my embellishments plus the Pippi Butterfly die from Memory Box.

As always there are lots and lots of luscious layers !

That's all from me today, hope you have a great day whatever you are up to :-)

Birthday Princess

Friday 5 June 2015
Hi everyone, I am really short on time today as it's taken me so long to make this card that I missed lunch and I need to get sorted before I do the school run lol!

It's another blue one from me today and for a change it's a princess card with not a hint of pink!

I am so in love with this card and although I printed out the image a little too large for my card I think I have made it work.

I have used the gorgeous Ballgown Ella digi from the Papernest Dolls and she has been coloured with Copics as always.  I've been having a practice doing folds....can you tell ;-)

The papers are from Lili of the Valley Petal Fresh pad and the flowers are Lil Inker's dies.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenge this week :-

Right I had best be off, my tummy is rumbling so bad !

Have a great weekend everyone.

The Paper Shelter - Make it Colourful

Thursday 4 June 2015
Morning folks, dare I ask if summer is finally here?  It was lovely to do the school run in the sunshine for a change!

Today I am sharing a card that I have made with the fantastic Cirque stamp from The Paper Shelter.  I knew as soon as I saw this stamp that I had to have it and she was amazing to colour and it's the first time I have ever coloured blue hair,

This was a custom card made for a girl whose favourite colour is blue.  My customer fell in love with a pink version I had made in the card and wanted it done in blue.

Blue isn't a colour I work with much so I was a bit apprehensive but I am really glad with how it turned out :-)

The papers are from the Papermania Capsule Collection, all matted onto black to tie in with the image.

I am going to enter my card into the following challenge:-

The Paper Shelter - Challenge 206 - Make it Colourful

I hope you all have a lovely sunny day !

Little Monkey

Wednesday 3 June 2015
Good morning everyone :-)

Today I want to share with you one of my previous custom orders.  I don't take very many orders any more but I used to absolutely love doing the children's cards where I could be free and easy with the bright colours and embellishments.

This card for Joshua was one of my favourites and I am certainly living up to my 'Shelly Layers' nickname with this one!

I have never ever got away with the CAS style of card, although I so wish I could and for some reason my cards always look boring in that style so for me it's the more layers and texture the better lol!

The cute little monkey is a digistamp I have had for years from CC Designs when they used to do digis.  He has been a very popular little fellow on children's cards over the years.

The papers are mostly Doodlebug that have been in my stash for a loooong time and I have matted all my layers onto navy cardstock to make them pop, as well as some faux stitching around the edges.

What card would be complete without buttons so I have added a few mini ones here and there along with some die cut stars to embellish.

Hope you all have a lovely day, not long now until the weekend :-)

Catherine Nibbling Chocolate - Stamping Bella

Monday 1 June 2015
Gooood morning, who stole the weekend?!

I'm back to the day job today but before I crack on I am just popping in with a card made using some of my favourite stamps....Stamping Bella Uptown Girls.  I have seen some sneak peeks of the new release and I can tell I the bank manager isn't going to be happy with me this month!

This lovely is Catherine Nibbling Chocolate - and doesn't she look so elegant doing it.  I have coloured her up with copics and fussy cut around her before mounting her onto my card.

All of the papers are from Pink Petticoat and I have matted everything onto pink cardstock.  Unfortunately I don't know the name of the embossing folder as I picked it up in a sale a couple of years ago and I don't have the packaging.

I have embellished with some die cut flowers and buttons and there you have it!

Better go and actually do some work, I need the money to feed my craft habit ;-)

Have a happy Monday folks

Little Flower Girl - Cute Card Thursday

Saturday 30 May 2015
Morning :-)  Thank goodness for the weekend - even though it's been a short week it seems to have dragged on forever!!

Rich has just gone off to work so I am having half an hour's peace before the whirlwind that is Megs is awake and raring to go.

I've got another bright and cheerful card for you this morning made using the gorgeous Little Flower Girl image from All Dressed Up and she is available here.  I have had her coloured up for a while but have never got round to making a card with her so this week's challenge at Cute Card Thursday was the perfect opportunity.

I have just subscribed to a card class that shows how to colour backgrounds with Copics.  It's something I have always struggled with and I think it gives the image so much more dimension so I am looking forward to that.  I think I probably should have done some kind of background on here but it's still cute without.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:-

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 375 - Too Cute
Crafting with An Attitude Challenge 3 - Anything Goes/Spring Fever
Sister Act Card Challenge - Challenge #108

Here's a list of the supplies I have used on my card :-

Little Flower Girl digistamp from All Dressed Up Stamps
One Birdie Lane paper pad from Lili of the Valley
Dienamics Blueprints 14 (flower, button die cut and scalloped edge)
Selection of buttons and satin ribbon

Have a fantastic Saturday everyone, hope the sun shines for you :-)

For You Quacky

Wednesday 27 May 2015
Good morning, how are you all today?

I just wanted to pop in and share this card I have just finished for little Connie who is going to be 3 next week.  She loves ducks so the fab For You Quacky digi from The Digistamp Boutique was perfect.

There are a lot of layers on this card (I have been given the nickname Shelly Layers by one of the other DT girls from All Dressed Up and I think it fits me perfectly ;-).

I've gone for a lovely bright and summery colour scheme to co-ordinate with my little ducky and added lots of little details....as I do!  A full list of supplies is at the end.

Here is a close up of some of the details....

I am also going to enter my card into the following challenges:-

The Digistamp Boutique - May Challenge
Tuesday Throwdown - Anything Goes
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Okey doke that's all from me for now, I've got a child free day today so I am making the most of it!

Exciting News!!

Monday 25 May 2015
Good morning, I hope you are all enjoying the lovely long weekend and that the sun has been shining for you.  We are car-less at the moment while it is being repaired so we have escaped the traffic madness but have managed to spend some time planting at our allotment which has been lovely.

How are you at keeping secrets?  I have had to keep this secret since last week and now I can finally announce that I have been picked to be one of the Dressy Girls DT over at All Dressed Up Stamps :-) (huge grins)!!!  Needless to say I was thrilled to be asked as I absolutely adore Wendy's stamps and there was never any chance I would say no lol.

This is the card I made for my DT introduction and it's another bright one!  I have used the beautiful Little Dreamer digi which I have coloured with copics.  I was a bit concerned I may have overdone the layers on this one but the more I look at it the more I love it.  The papers are from the Doodlebug Hello Sunshine paper pad and I must have spent a good half an hour deciding whether to mat my panels onto hot pink or brown....as you can see I went for brown ;-) ...oooh the doily is Doodlebug too ;-)

If you pop over to the blog today you will be able to see all the stunning creations that the new DT have designed and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Be sure to keep checking the blog as the new release is just around the corner on 7 June and I will be back then with my design using one of them....they are stunning!

Have a lovely bank holiday everyone and thanks for stopping by xx

A New Home

Sunday 24 May 2015
Morning, happy Sunday :-)  I am keeping it short and sweet today with a new customer card to show you.  I am feeling a bit rough this morning, I am blaming too much sun yesterday but I think it was more likely the one (or several) glass of Pimms I had last night ;-)

I've used yet another Doodlebug pad for this card, as I thought the background paper with the houses and trees was perfect for a new home card.  As usual there are lots of luscious layers !

The image is from Graphics Shoppe and as always I have used my trusty copics to colour it in....cute isn't it.

It isn't often I do customer cards these days but I made an exception for his lady who has been a customer of mine since I started Little Megs Cards many years ago.

Anyway time for me to be off and lie down in a darkened room.....roll on bedtime

Have a great day

80's Girl

Thursday 21 May 2015
Morning everyone....have you got your sunglasses on?  You will need them for this card ;-)  If you like your cards pale and interesting look away now!

I loved the 80's, I still love the music and I remember how proud I was of my black lace fingerless gloves that made me look like Madonna (in my mind anyway).  I had posters of Wet Wet Wet and Aha all over my bedroom walls and if Rich would let me I would probably still have posters of Marti Pellow on the wall ;-)  I can also remember clearly me and my sister trying to re-enact the final dance scene from Flashdance in the living room......not very elegantly I might add!

Anyway speaking of Flashdance....... this is the fantabulous Farrah Loves Flashdance from Stamping Bella and she is available here.  I was drawn to this stamp because it reminded me of me!!!!!

I knew I wanted to go bright with this so I used one of my Doodlebug paper pads and matted all my panels onto lime green cardstock.

I have die cut some circles and snipped around the edges to make the fringed flowers which I have embellished them with buttons.  The leaves were just hand cut from green cardstock.

Time for me to go anyway because I am at work and therefore should be working!

Have a great day everyone

Birthday Princess

Tuesday 19 May 2015
Morning!  At last the sun is shining here, maybe summer is on it's way at last.

I almost feel stupid typing all this as I feel a bit like I am talking to thin air as I don't think many people actually read my blog but hey I don't mind a bit of rambling on if you don't.

I was asked to make a fairy card using just pinks.  Although I love pink this was a bit of a challenge because I tend to use two or three colours that offset each other.  This card certainly says PINK doesn't it lol.

One day I want to master the art of clean and simple cards but for now I will stick to my usually layer, layer, layer style and hope for the best.

All of the papers are from Doodlebug and I have had them in my stash for so long I don't think you can probably get them over here anymore.  All the layers have been matted onto hot pink cardstock after having the faux stitching treatment.

The image is an All Dressed Up stamp called Fairy Magic and it's available here.  As always I have coloured her with Copics and added lots of glitter and sparkle, plus the obligatory buttons and ribbon.

I had best be off anyway as I am off to work this morning boooooo!!!

Have a great day

Lil' Inkers Monthly Meetup Challenge

Monday 18 May 2015
Morning :-)

It's grim up north today, I hope the weather is better where you are.  I was thinking Summer might have been here by now!

Here's a little something to brighten up your day.  It's my first challenge in a looooong time and I just loved making this card.  It's so fresh and bright and I think I might just keep it for myself lol.

It's the Monthly Meetup Challenge over at Lil' Inker Designs and I thought I would give it a go.  I absolutely adore their stuff but it's quite hard to get hold of in the UK so I was chuffed to bits to get my hands on the gorgeous Perky Posies die set from Make the Day Special and I am pretty sure they are going to get very well used.

This is quite a simple card for me and for some reason I always find them harder to do as I don't tend to go for the less is more concept !

I've pierced the edges of my white mat with my pricky tool and added the flowers with PVA and sticky pads to give it a bit of dimension.  I've finished off with some pearls and gems and the thanks die cut sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.

I will certainly be making a stash of these.

Best be off now as I am at work ;-)  Have a happy Monday

Shelly xx
