My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card - Best Buds

Monday 2 May 2016
Good morning everyone, long time no see!  I've had a bit of a break but I'm back with my DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop

I hope you are all enjoying the long weekend, I don't know what it's like where you are but it's done nothing but rain here in the North East :-(

I am sure this card will brighten up your day though.

I've used the gorgeous Under the Sea pad from Doodlebug, I just love the bright candy colours of Doodlebug and this pad is no exception.  It's out of stock at the moment but you can email Kitty or leave a message in the Facebook Group to see when they will be back in stock.

For the large circle I've used the Stitched Circle Scallop Frames from Dienamics and embellished with some mini buttons.

The flower vase and sentiment stamp are both from the Paper Smooches Best Buds stamp set and I've coloured them with Copics to match the colourful papers and mounted them with foam pads.

Now if that doesn't cheer you up on this dreary day nothing will !

I hope you all enjoy what's left of the bank holiday weekend.

Doodle Buds

Thursday 10 March 2016
Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well.

I'm here today with my latest DT card for My Mums Craft Shop and I'm a bit late to the party as I normally have this post scheduled in advance but I got up early this morning to frantically type it because I seem to be lost with what day it is lately....it must be my age lol!

Today I am showcasing the amazing Doodle Buds stamp set by WPlus9 which is available here.

This is such a versatile set with loads of mix and match options for you to create some gorgeous projects.

For my card I decided to stamp myself a background using the various elements.  I stamped randomly onto a piece of cardstock and then cut it down to fit my card.  Everything has been coloured with Copics, including the blue background, which was done using B000.  I've gone around the edges of the flowers with B00 to highlight them and added some dots around with the tip of the pen.  I matted my completed panel onto pink cardstock.

It's hard to tell from the picture but I've added glitter to the centres of the flowers and the effect looks amazing.

If you enjoy colouring then this is the card for you.  You could even make your own colouring pages !  I have got a few stamped up ready so that if I don't fancy making a card I can just relax with a bit of colouring.

That's all from me for today, I can breathe a sigh of relief now I'm up to date.

Have a great Thursday.

Flower Picking

Monday 29 February 2016
Hey everyone I'm here today with some inspiration for you :-)

Did I tell you how much I adore these images and how beautiful they are to colour.  I chose to work with the fantastic Flower Picking digi for my card and she is available here.

After the dull and dark February days I thought it would be nice to see some brightness so I decided to go with some bright and zingy citrus colours to remind us that Spring is on the way soon.  I've used a paper pad from Lili of the Valley although unfortunately I don't think they stock them any more.

My image is coloured with Copics to match my papers and I've matted all my layers onto bright orange cardstock to make them stand out a bit more.  I know there probably isn't such a thing as a pink and orange mushroom (or at least I've never seen one) but I love the fact that crafting gives you artistic licence to colour anything any way you like!

I've die cut various flowers and leaves and embellished the centres with adhesive pearls and added my sentiment to finish off.

We have a couple of challenges running at the moment, both on the blog and on the Facebook page so be sure to join in for your chance of winning some fab digis from the store.

Have a great day

Blooming Birthday Wishes

Thursday 25 February 2016
Hi everyone and happy Thursday!  I'm here today with my latest card for My Mum's Craft Shop

You may know I am a huge fan of Stamping Bella Uptown Girls and this beauty has to be one of my favourites to colour.  This is Fiona Loves Flowers and luckily she has just come back into stock here so be sure to grab yourself one before she disappears again!

I decided on a red white and black theme to make the beautiful poppies stand out and I've coloured her in with Copics.

The animal print paper is from the My Favourite Things Wild Prints paper pad which is out of stock at the moment unfortunately but if you email Kitty she will be able to add it to her next order.

I've kept the embellishment quite simple with a felt flower made using the Dienamics Pretty Posies die and button stitched in the centre.  This is always my go-to flower die, I think it's just stunning in its simplicity and looks so pretty layered up.  I've hand cut a couple of green felt leaves to go with it and added a couple of red cardstock flags to finish off.

I couldn't decide whether to make it a Mother's Day card or a Birthday card so I went with Birthday in the end as I know I for one would love to receive this card for my birthday.

There are loads of fab new things arriving in the store at the moment so be sure to keep checking back to make sure you don't miss out!

Have a great day everyone.

Max the Monkey - Kitty Bee Spotlight Card

Wednesday 24 February 2016
Hello there everyone I am here today to show you my spotlight card for Kitty Bee Designs, I hope you are all well :-)

Today I'm showcasing the extremely cute Max the Monkey digi.  I'm a sucker for a cute monkey stamp and I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him.  He is available to buy here from the Etsy store.

I've used various layers and die cuts in my design (as always lol) and because of this I can never do a 'quick' card.  I can spend literally hours just playing about positioning paper and die cutting various bits and pieces until I am happy and this card was no exception.

Once I was happy with all my layering I stuck everything down and coloured little Max with Copics before fussy cutting him out and mounting him onto the card as my main focal point.  I think he looks super cute sitting there with his banana!

I've added various faux stitching around my die cut elements with a white gel pen and finished off with a couple of buttons here and there for embellishment.

That's all from me for today, wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday.

Flying Bunny Birthday - Sasayaki Glitter Inspiration

Friday 19 February 2016
Hello everyone and happy Friday!

Today I am showcasing the fabulous Flying Bunny digi from Sasayaki Glitter which I have used to make a cute pink and grey birthday card.  She is available to buy here in the Etsy store, along with lots of other gorgeous digis that you won't be able to resist!

I'm a sucker for lots of layers on my cards and this is no exception so I sat and played with various bits of paper until I was happy with my layout before colouring my bunny in with Copics.  I've added some polka dots to the balloon with a white gel pen and then I've fussy cut her before mounting onto my card with foam pads for a bit of extra dimension.

I've die cut a couple of clouds from white glittery cardstock (although this doesn't show up very well on the photo) and added a button and some pearls and ribbon to embellish.

If you haven't already, join our Facebook Group here where we have monthly challenges and fab freebies.

That's all from me today, I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a lovely weekend.

You're Out of This World

Thursday 11 February 2016
Hi everyone

It's my turn on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog today and I've got something out of this world to show you!

I see so many amazing watercolour cards around at the moment and Rich bought me a set for Christmas so I thought I would give them a go and make a background.

It took me quite a few attempts until I was happy with it and I still need some practice but I thought it made a good 'outer space' backdrop for my card.

The stamps are all from the brand new February release by MFT called Out of This World and they are available here.  I've coloured them with Copics and then fussy cut them before mounting them randomly onto my card with foam pads.

I think this is definitely going to be a popular set so grab yours now so you don't miss out.

That's all from me today.  Have a great Thursday

Somewhere over the Rainbow

Sunday 7 February 2016
Hey there everyone, I'm here to brighten up your Sunday with a new card I made yesterday for My Mum's Craft Shop.  I hope you have all had a fantastic weekend.

It was pouring down all day in the North East yesterday so what better day to do some crafting right?  It was my birthday last week and I was lucky enough to get some of the brand new MFT dies from my hubby and I couldn't wait to play.

I made a sky background panel using watercolour paints but I ended up covering most of it up in the end so you can only just to say see it at the top.

I started off die cutting my clouds from white cardstock using the MFT Stitched Cloud Edges die which is available here.  I only stuck them down at the edges so I could slot my rainbow and sunshine behind them before glueing them down at the end.

I cut my rainbow using the Stitched Rainbow die which you can buy here and played around for ages before I was happy with the colours lol!  While I was sticking it down I had the 'red and yellow and pink etc. etc. rainbow song going round in my head!!

The sunshine is also from MFT and it's available here.

I die cut my letters using the same colours to match the rainbow and then added some white faux stitching around them with a gel pen.  You can't really tell on the photo but I've added spots of glitter all over my clouds....because who says clouds can't be glittery right !

I absolutely love how it has turned out and it really did brighten up a dreary day.

Thanks for stopping by.

Friday 5 February 2016
Hey there lovelies and happy Friday to you all.

Today I am here to show you my DT card for our latest challenge over at Aloha Friday Challenges which is 'Fave Colour Combo'.

We are so lucky to have found some amazing co-sponsors for most of our challenges this year, in order to bring you DOUBLE the fun and prizes!!  Each week we'll feature one of the two... but we're just doing it alphabetically so there's no real special order to it!  For this challenge our two sponsors are Sami Stamps and A Random Fan

For my card I've used the fantastic Swing into Love Digi which is available here.  I've got a bit of a thing at the moment for red, white and blue cards so I chose to use this combo for my card.  This digi was just amazing to colour with my Copics and I'm really proud of my curly haired boy !

I've die cut some circles from a paper pad from Lili of the Valley and added some die cut and punched hearts to make a cute valentine card.

I've faux stitched around my circles and hearts using blue and white gel pens and added a couple of buttons to embellish.

If you would like to join in our challenge please pop over to the blog and show us your beautiful creations, you have until 12 February to enter!

Sasayaki Glitter New Release

Monday 1 February 2016
Hey there everyone I hope you have had a fantastic weekend!

I am excited to show you a couple of new cards today made with some of the gorgeous new releases at Sasayaki Glitter.  These really are beautiful to colour and the designs are just beautiful.  Be sure to pop over to the shop and grab yourself one...or more!

My first card is made using the cute Heart Balloons digi which is available to buy here.  I've coloured her in with Copics and added some Crystal Glamour Dust to the clouds.

I'm sick of winter now so thought I would use some lovely bright Spring colours for my card using papers from the Brand new Echo Park Spring paper pad.  As always I've used lots of layers and have matted each panel onto some candy pink cardstock.

I've added some die cut clouds which have been embossed with polka dots and I've also punched out some butterflies to keep in with the Spring theme.

My next card is a one layer card which is virtually unheard of for me lol!  I think this image is just so beautiful that she stands perfectly on her own.  This is A Gift for You and she is available here.

I've also coloured her with copics and mounted her onto a scalloped edge card using foam tape for a bit of dimension.  I've then added a couple of pearls and a sentiment and voila!

Please pop over to our Facebook Page where you can share your beautiful creations using Sasayaki Glitter stamps and where we will be starting a new Challenge in February.

That's all from me for today.  Wishing you all a wonderful Monday

I Heart Bunny

Thursday 28 January 2016
Hi there everyone this is my second post of the day (please scroll down for my MMCS DT card) with my first spotlight post for Kitty Bee Design and I'm really excited to be working with these fab images!

As Valentine's Day is approaching fast, I thought I would make a card using the cute iHeart Bun digi who is available to buy here.  I 've used lots of layers on this one and have included loads of die cut elements  I've coloured him in with Copics and mounted him on my card using foam pads for extra dimension.

I've added lots of little details to my layers, including some faux stitching and some teeny tiny die cut hearts.

Have a great day everyone

Shelly

Have a Flash Birthday

Hey everyone how are you doing?  Is anyone else glad to see the back of January, what a long month it has been!

I'm here today with my latest card for My Mum's Craft Shop and I've made one of my least favourite type of cards....male birthday lol.  I tend to avoid them at all costs but this stamp is so cute that it was actually a pleasure.

The papers are from the Doodlebug Patriotic Picnic pad available here and everything has been die cut using the Dienamics Blueprints 1 collection available here.  I absolutely love the Blueprints dies, they are so versatile and great if you need a card fairly quickly.

I've matted some of my panels onto blue and red cardstock just to give a bit more pop and I've added a couple of little elements of my own along with some buttons to embellish.

This little cute is called Flash and I've coloured him in with Copics and mounted him into the corner of my card using foam pads.

Finally I've stamped my Happy Birthday sentiment from the Sweet Safari MFT stamp set and voila!

Keep popping over to the shop as Kitty has gorgeous new goodies arriving every day and you don't want to miss out.

Until next time, have a great day.

Birthday Balloons

Tuesday 26 January 2016
Hey everyone how are you doing on this wet and windy Tuesday.  We are off to a concert tonight in Harrogate...what a day to be going !

I'm here with my latest card for the Craftin Desert Divas Digi Design Team.  They have just had a new January release so if you haven't already pop over for some gorgeous brand new goodies.

Today I have used the Birthday Girl with Balloons digi which is available here and I'm in a kind of red, white and blue mood at the moment (pop back on Thursday and you will see what I mean!).

These papers are from the Doodlebug Patriotic Picnic pad.  I think it's safe to say I am probably Doodlebug's number 1 fan lol!.

I've added some die cut elements using Dienamics Pretty Posies and stitched oval frames and I've finished off with some buttons and surprisingly no glitter this time.

That's all from me for today.  See you soon

Birthday Blimps

Saturday 16 January 2016
Good morning everyone and happy Saturday !  I'm here today to show you a card made for My Mum's Craft Shop (whenever I type that I always think to myself 'I wish my mum really did own a craft shop! )  featuring one of the brand new Woodware stamps which came out this month.

Introducing The Blimps !  Aren't they cute?  They come as three separate stamps so I've done a bit of masking to put them all together.

I started by stamping the centre Blimp twice and fussy cutting one out.  I've then layered this one over the top of the other one and fixed with a bit of masking tape before stamping the other Blimps at each side. Then remove the 'extra' centre Blimp and there you have it.

I've coloured them all in with Copics and mounted my panel onto red cardstock to make it pop.

I promised myself I would start using papers from my growing scraps box and so I've cut all the triangles and flags from scraps and added some buttons to embellish.

I think these stamps are great for kid's birthday cards and this week I'm going to be working on some cards using the stamps individually.

That's it from me for today, I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday

Love You - My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card

Thursday 14 January 2016
Hey there everyone how are you doing this fine Thursday (well that's assuming it's fine, I've actually written this and scheduled this post on Sunday so it could be snowing a blizzard today!)

I'm kicking off my first DT post back with My Mum's Craft Shop.  I had an extremely busy second half of the year with work in 2015 as my manager was in hospital for a long time so I picked up a lot of extra responsibility which meant my crafting had to give.  Thankfully things have settled down now and I'm ready to get back into the swing of things.

My card for this week features the beautiful Doodle Pip flowers stamp set from WPlus9.  Unfortunately they are out of stock in the shop at the moment but if you email Kitty at My Mum's Craft Shop she will be able to order them in for you.  In the meantime check out the other gorgeous WPlus9 stamps which are available here

This is such a versatile set with loads of mix and match flowers and leaves which you can mask up and create some beautiful little scenes.

For this card I've basically stamped my flowers and fussy cut them to make a little focal point arrangement.  I've used one of the papers from the My Favourite Things Farm Fresh Gingham paper pad which is available here and die cut a circle using the Dienamics Jumbo Circle Peek a Boo Windows set available here

Rich bought me some watercolours for Christmas and I have been seeing so many beautiful watercolour backgrounds that I've been itching to have a go.  The background to the central circular die cut panel is one of my first efforts at messing about with them and I love the 'sunset' effect it gives!

The Love You sentiment is made with the Dienamics Love and Adore You text die and I've finished off with a couple of red self adhesive pearls in the bottom corner.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful Thursday.

Birthday Lion

Sunday 10 January 2016
Hey everyone and a belated Happy New Year to you all.  I hope you had a fantastic Christmas and that 2016 will be a great year for you!

One of my resolutions for 2016 is to re-launch my website and find my proper passion for crafting again and I've been a busy bee this weekend making some stock.

This card is my latest DT card for Craftin Desert Divas and I have used the adorable Birthday Lion digistamp and he is available here

Now I know you have never seen a lion with yellow, blue and green paw pads but in the crafting world anything is possible right !  Having said that I've never seen a lion with a cupcake and party hat on!!

I've coloured him with my Copics and added some little dots to his cheeks with a white gel pen.  I'm back on with the faux stitching again too, I just love the effect!

That's all from me for today, I have a hot date with a pile of ironing ;-)

Pop back tomorrow when I'm going to be sharing another boy's birthday card with you.
